BIOGRAPHY
Brett commenced the practice of law in 2004 as a barrister after approximately 20 years as a structural and civil engineer, project manager and company director. Prior to admission to the bar, Brett was a director of design and project management professional practices in Australia, and of a design and construct contractor in the UK.
Upon admission as a barrister, Brett commenced practice in Brisbane at the private bar in Cedric Hampson Chambers (formerly 17th Level, Inns of Court).
Brett’s practice has covered all aspects of building and construction law, including the regulation of associated professions such as engineers, architects and surveyors, and administrative reviews of regulatory bodies for the building industry and associated professions. He has also practised in commercial, corporations, insolvency, employment and statutory valuation law. He has appeared in all levels of the Queensland Courts, the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and in private arbitrations and other forms of ADR.
